"We do not own the world, and its riches are not ours to dispose of at will." (from Advices & Queries)
We joined A Rocha UK's Eco Church scheme in 2016 and have held an Eco Church Silver Award since 2018. Below are some of the things we have done during 2025. For more information on what we have done over the years before see our old website at https://bradfordonavonquakers.weebly.com/eco-church.html
Many of our children's meetings continue to have a nature-related theme, especially those we hold outdoors at Frankleigh House gardens.
We continue to use environmentally friendly paint for redecoration projects. In 2025, our electricity consumption was 42% lower and our gas consumption 35% lower in comparison to 2015.
We continue to maintain our garden in a way that attracts slow-worms, moths, butterflies, and bees.
Since January 2024, the Meeting House hosts free of charge a Climate and Community Café for people with climate anxiety. This was run on a fortnightly basis throughout 2024 and 2025 and now continues on a monthly basis. Friends from our Meeting are active in Climate Friendly Bradford on Avon, Extinction Rebellion, Just Stop Oil and other groups.
Our monthly newsletter frequently includes tips and personal stories to encourage a more sustainable lifestyle and has a regular 'Look out for nature' feature.
